MASACO Construction is a woman-led general contractor headquartered in Plano, and general construction is the core of what we do. This category covers the projects that change the footprint or the structure of a property: custom homes built from the slab up, whole-home renovations, additions that add a room or a second story, and commercial buildings and build-outs. If a project needs permits, engineering, several trades, and one company accountable for all of it, it lives here.

It’s built for homeowners across Dallas-Fort Worth who want a single firm to own the whole job, from the first site walk to the last item on the punch list. It’s also for investors, small business owners, and developers who need a construction company that treats a schedule and a budget as commitments. Sara Bannat and Mahmoud Abu Saad founded MASACO after building Roof Raiders & Co., a Plano roofing company, in 2022, and they brought the same discipline about paperwork, photos, and follow-through into general contracting.

What sits under general construction.

Each service below has its own page with scope, process, and answers to the questions we hear most. Start with the one that matches your project.

  • General contracting is the umbrella service. We hold the contract, pull the permits, hire and schedule the trades, and answer for the result. It fits any project with more than two or three trades involved.
  • Whole-home remodeling reworks several rooms or an entire floor plan at once, often opening walls, relocating plumbing, and replacing finishes throughout.
  • Kitchen remodeling covers layout changes, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, and appliance integration, from a refresh in place to a full gut.
  • Bathroom remodeling ranges from a primary suite rebuild with a curbless shower to a hall bath that needs new tile, a vanity, and better ventilation.
  • Home additions add square footage: a bedroom wing, a larger kitchen, a second story, or a detached casita, all tied cleanly into the existing structure.
  • Custom home building takes you from lot evaluation and plans through framing, finishes, and a certificate of occupancy.
  • Commercial construction covers tenant build-outs, office and retail interiors, and light commercial ground-up work.

What to know before hiring a construction company in Dallas-Fort Worth.

Texas doesn’t license general contractors at the state level. Cities register them instead, and each city issues its own permits and runs its own inspections. That means the contractor you hire should be registered where your property sits and should be the one pulling the permit, not you. Ask any contractor you’re considering how they handle this. We register in the cities we work in and keep permit and inspection records in your project file.

Most master-planned communities in DFW also require HOA architectural review before exterior work begins. Additions, new construction, and anything visible from the street typically need a submittal package with drawings and material specifications. We prepare and track those submittals so the approval lands before the schedule needs it.

Finally, understand the difference between an estimate and a scope. An estimate is a guess with a number attached. A fixed-scope proposal spells out what’s included, what’s excluded, and what the allowances are, so the number means something.

How MASACO runs a construction project.

Every project in this category follows the same six-step process. We begin with a consultation and site walk, then move into design with 3D visualization so you can see the space before we touch it. From there you receive a fixed-scope proposal. We handle permits, engineering, and HOA submittals, then build with one dedicated project manager who sends you weekly written updates with photos. The job closes with a final walkthrough, a punch list, and a care guide for your new space.

One project manager is the part clients notice most. You aren’t handed from a salesperson to an estimator to a superintendent. The person who walked the site with you is the person who answers your call in week nine.

Where we build.

We work from Plano and take on projects across our Dallas-Fort Worth service areas, from Dallas and Fort Worth proper to the Collin County and Denton County suburbs. If you’re unsure whether your address is in range, ask. We’ll tell you straight.

Ready to talk about a build, a remodel, or an addition? Book a consultation through our contact page. We’ll walk the property, listen to what you want to accomplish, and tell you what it will take to get there. Think Massive. Build Smart.
